About Us

Big Hearts 4 Little Paws Foundation, also known as Save the Kitties, was established in

May of 2018 and has since grown into a cat saving force to be reckoned with. We are a fully

volunteer ran nonprofit that runs solely on the donations of our amazing supporters.

We started off spaying female pregnant cats in a mobile home park located in south Wichita Kansas, and soon after, started fostering kittens and finding them homes out of a converted 12x12 shed. We now have a public building where adopters can come and meet our cats and kittens available for adoption.

That being said, we save most of our cats from Wichita Animal Shelter’s euthanasia list and also

take in owner surrenders in the case it is needed. Many of the animals we save are often very

sick or neglected. We see so many cats with upper respiratory infections, ringworm, feline

leukemia, and just so many heart breaking illnesses that take time to heal. We strive to let our

cats and kittens have full recovery time in a clean, safe environment that has plenty of

enrichment and amenities.

 

One thing that is very important to us is that healthy cats do not

spend time locked up in kennels and we like to have most of our cats who are waiting on forever

homes free roaming in their own suite with other sociable and friendly cats. Aside from the cats,

we also have a great diversity of volunteers young and old who love animals just as much as we

do. Bringing people into the rescue networking world is key in this day and age as we

need more support than ever to rescue all animals we can.
